A compulsary condition for the successful transition to complete liberalization of the electricity market is the protection of vulnerable customers in Bulgaria. That was said by the Minister of energy Temenujka Petkova at the presentation of the the mechanism for protection of vulnerable consumers under the conditions of full liberalisation of the electricity market.
The process of full liberalization of the electricity market in Bulgaria is a major priority of the government which will lead to stabilization of the energy market in the long term. According to the definition “vulnerable customers” these are household customers who due to age, health or income are at risk of social exclusion in relation to the supply and consumption of electricity and who benefit from measures of social protection and receive health subsidies.
